How do rankings and acceptance work?

Short answer: After the selection, the university publishes a ranking. Scholarships go down the ranking in order. You must accept within the deadline in the call or you lose your place.

• At Trento, scholarships are assigned by academic merit, and in a tie the candidate's financial situation decides (University of Trento).
• If you win a topic bound scholarship, you commit to that project.
• If someone ahead of you withdraws, the next candidate is called. Being just below the line is not the end; keep checking.
