Bangladesh: how do I apostille my degree documents?
Short answer: Through MOFA's e Apostille service on MyGov. Bangladesh joined the Apostille Convention and the service started on 30 March 2025 (Dhaka Tribune). Since June 2025 the Italian embassy no longer legalises Bangladeshi public documents (Embassy of Italy Dhaka).
- Check name and date of birth against your passport on every document.
- Apply on the MOFA apostille portal.
- The responsible ministry verifies, MOFA issues the e Apostille (Banglanews24).
- Download it from your MyGov dashboard after the SMS.
Typical list: bachelor's certificate and transcript, HSC certificate (some universities ask), birth certificate if a parent sponsors you, marriage certificate in English if married (M34). Only one apostille per document is accepted (Dhaka checklist).
Clearing the confusion: websites that say Bangladesh is not in the Apostille Convention are out of date.
This page explains official rules in plain language. I am not an immigration adviser and I do not give visa advice. For that, always use official government sources. Rules change: confirm with your university, the embassy and VFS before you act.
