How does the VFS appointment work in Bangladesh?
Short answer: You do not chase it. VFS emails students whose pre enrolment is validated, at their Universitaly email. The last day to apply for 2026/27 is 30 November 2026 (Embassy notice).

- Bring originals and copies. Give fingerprints, mandatory for national visas since 11 January 2025 (MUR circular).
- Pay the visa fee and the VFS service charge. Italian embassies usually list the study visa fee at €50 (Embassy of Italy Budapest).
- Appointments are always free, even through VFS (Embassy of Italy Dhaka). Nobody should charge you for a "slot".
- You get a type D study visa, valid 365 days, multiple entries.
- How long it takes from Dhaka: I do not know. The embassy does not publish a processing time, and it varies with the season. Other Italian missions warn that a study visa can take up to 90 days, so plan for weeks rather than days and ask VFS what they are seeing when you apply.
