Bangladesh: how do I apostille my SSC and HSC certificates?
Short answer: Through the MOFA e Apostille service on MyGov. Bangladesh joined the Apostille Convention and the online service started on 30 March 2025 (Dhaka Tribune). Since June 2025 the Italian embassy no longer legalises Bangladeshi public documents; they need the MOFA apostille (Embassy of Italy Dhaka).
- Check that your name and date of birth match your passport on every certificate and marksheet.
- Apply on the MOFA apostille portal.
- The responsible ministry verifies the document, then MOFA issues the e Apostille (Banglanews24).
- You get an SMS and download the e Apostille from your MyGov dashboard.
Typical list for bachelor's applicants: SSC and HSC certificates and marksheets, birth certificate (if a parent sponsors you), and any court guardianship papers if you are under 18 (B25). Only one apostille per document is accepted (Dhaka checklist).
Clearing the confusion: Some agency websites still say Bangladesh is not in the Apostille Convention and sell a long "legalisation chain". That is out of date for documents going to Italy.
This page explains official rules in plain language. I am not an immigration adviser and I do not give visa advice. For that, always use official government sources. Rules change: confirm with your university, the embassy and VFS before you act.
