Bachelor's · Part C: Choose and apply
When should I apply, and what are the deadlines?
Short answer: Courses start in September or October. Applications open as early as November of the year before. Apply in the first windows, between November and March.
| Step | Example from 2026/27 | Source |
|---|---|---|
| Application windows | Pavia: 12 to 20 November 2025, 12 to 20 January, 10 to 18 March, 5 to 11 June 2026 | University of Pavia |
| Universitaly pre enrolment deadline | 31 July 2026 (Tor Vergata), 30 September 2026 (Pisa, Ca' Foscari) | Tor Vergata, Pisa, Ca' Foscari |
| Visa application deadline | 30 November 2026 | MUR circular |
| Visa deadline next year | 31 October 2027 for 2027/28 | MUR circular |
Three rules that reward early applicants (MUR circular)
- Universities can validate pre enrolments only up to their places for non EU students plus 20%. When the limit is reached, Universitaly blocks further validations.
- Universities may set visa dates earlier than the national deadline.
- If you are not enrolled by 31 January of the academic year, your visa is revoked.
Bhaia's honest note: For HSC students the squeeze is real. Results come out in summer, and the visa must be filed by 31 October 2027 for next year. Do everything that does not need your HSC result (IELTS, apostille of SSC, shortlisting, applications) before the result arrives.
This page explains official rules in plain language. I am not an immigration adviser and I do not give visa advice. For that, always use official government sources. Rules change: confirm with your university, the embassy and VFS before you act.
