The visa · Part D: What a visa file has to stand up to
Flight risk
This is judgement, not a published rule. Italy publishes no test for it, and I am not going to invent one.
What the idea means
Any country issuing a study visa is also deciding whether it is issuing a migration route. The general question behind the phrase is whether the visa is being used for the purpose it exists for. A study visa is permission to come and study, so the state has an interest in whether the holder intends to study.
What the official texts do and do not say
The rules describe what the embassy verifies: that the pre enrolment is validated, that funds are sufficient and traceable, that the qualification is recognised, that language is proven, and that the course fits the applicant's background (MUR circular). The embassy also says it may examine documents and language further. What is not published is a method for weighing a person's intentions, and I have not found one anywhere official.
What this means for you
You cannot prepare for this the way you prepare for the money rule, because there is no number to hit. What you can do is make everything that is documented agree with everything else: a course that follows from what you have studied, funding that makes sense on its own terms, a plan you can describe in your own words, and no contradiction between what the file says and what you say.
What I am not going to give you
A list of things that "prove you will return", or phrases to use, or ties to display. I have never administered a visa assessment and I do not know what moves one. Those lists circulate widely in Bangladesh and they are guesswork presented as inside knowledge. Some of them actively hurt people, because a student who has rehearsed a script sounds like a student who has rehearsed a script.
If this is the part you are worried about
That is a reasonable worry, and it is also the part least within anyone's control. Put the hours into the four published rules, where the hours change something.
This page explains official rules in plain language. I am not an immigration adviser and I do not give visa advice. For that, always use official government sources. Rules change: confirm with your university, the embassy and VFS before you act.
