PhD · Part C: Find and apply
What documents does a PhD application need?
Short answer: Usually a CV, degree certificates and transcripts, a research project, and sometimes recommendation letters, publications and an English certificate. Each call has its own list and format.
- CV: education, thesis title and supervisor, methods and tools you know, publications or conference papers, relevant work.
- Master's thesis summary or abstract, if asked.
- Research project: see P10.
- Recommendation letters: some calls ask referees to upload them directly. Give real email addresses and warn your referees in advance.
- Fees: some calls charge a small application fee paid through pagoPA. Pay before the deadline.
This page explains official rules in plain language. I am not an immigration adviser and I do not give visa advice. For that, always use official government sources. Rules change: confirm with your university, the embassy and VFS before you act.
