Bangladesh: how do I apostille my documents?

Short answer: Through MOFA's e Apostille on MyGov. Bangladesh joined the Apostille Convention and the service started on 30 March 2025 (Dhaka Tribune). Since June 2025 the Italian embassy no longer legalises Bangladeshi public documents (Embassy of Italy Dhaka).

  1. Check name and date of birth against your passport on every document.
  2. Apply on the MOFA apostille portal.
  3. The responsible ministry verifies; MOFA issues the e Apostille (Banglanews24).
  4. Download it from MyGov after the SMS.

Typical list: master's and bachelor's certificates and transcripts, marriage certificate in English if married, children's birth certificates if your family will join you later. Only one apostille per document is accepted (Dhaka checklist).

This page explains official rules in plain language. I am not an immigration adviser and I do not give visa advice. For that, always use official government sources. Rules change: confirm with your university, the embassy and VFS before you act.
