Bangladesh is on the "particularly poor countries" list. What does that mean?
Short answer: Easier scholarship paperwork and, at some universities, lower fees. Bangladesh is on the 2026/27 list, set by Decree no. 176 of 24 February 2026 (Decree list, University of Bologna copy).
- DSU papers: a certificate from the Italian embassy or consulate saying you do not belong to a family known for high income and high social standing, instead of full income documents (Università di Scienze Gastronomiche).
- Still required: €10,179.85 a year for the visa. The list is renewed every year.
This page explains official rules in plain language. I am not an immigration adviser and I do not give visa advice. For that, always use official government sources. Rules change: confirm with your university, the embassy and VFS before you act.
